The Lake House is located at 301 Park Ave. and features 100 slot machines, indoor and outdoor dining options, three bars, a patio and an outdoor area for live entertainment, said Ray Halbritter, Oneida Indian Nation representative and Nation Enterprises CEO.

The property is the former site of Pfohl's Beach House and a wedding and banquet venue owned by Brenda and Robert Johnson. The Nation purchased the property last year.
Sylvan Beach resident Judie Stabb was waiting in line to enter the casino with a group of friends about an hour prior to opening. Stabb said she was visiting the casino on opening day for entertainment purposes and out of curiosity.
'It looks beautiful on the outside now,' she said, standing a few feet from the front entrance.

Stabb said she and other village residents had watched the construction of the new casino unfold. Stabb, like many others, she said, initially thought it was going to stay a wedding venue.
She is hopeful the casino can bring in tourism to the village during the winter months, when Sylvan Beach is a 'ghost town.'
'You come here in the winter time and you hardly see a car,' she said.
Horan is hopeful The Lake House will have an influence on the village's economy. He said parking revenue in the village is down 50% from this time last year.
'Sylvan Beach appreciates the significant investment (of the Nation)' Horan said.
Sylvan Beach Administrator Michael Sayles previously had called the casino 'the largest investment in private property made in the village in its history.'
Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente hopes the new casino will have a ripple effect benefitting businesses in Sylvan Beach and neighboring communities. He called the village a tourist attraction, and said The Lake House will bring more people to the area.
'Given these times, every community needs a boost,' Picente said. 'This is a big boost.'
In brief remarks prior to the casino's opening, Halbritter said the Nation's vision was to bring more people to the village. He also spoke about the difficulty in building and opening a new business during the pandemic.
'The times we are in are far from normal,' he said. 'But, we are excited to start a new chapter in Sylvan Beach.'
